Urban Sands examines the shifting relationship between landscape and urbanisation, where the distinction between the natural and the constructed becomes increasingly unstable. The desert emerges not as an untouched terrain, but as a site shaped by extraction, development, aspiration, and human intervention. Oil, opulence, construction, and decay converge within the same terrain, collapsing different temporalities and conditions into a landscape in constant transformation.

The series considers how such landscapes become repositories of economic histories, collective desires, and imagined futures, revealing the tensions between abundance and depletion, permanence and impermanence, and the elemental and the constructed.
